I’m planning to record a very short, litle movie and would like some help applying audio effects. I’ve got a collection of rain sounds from Fressound.org, and would want to make the rain sound as if it came from outside the room/house.

Could anyone advise me as to which effects I’d best combine to achieve this “muted outside” effect? That would be very much appreciated! Thanks.

Try the Low pass filter.

Thank you good sir! I have done so, applying the effect at 1009Hz (seemed to be the default setting) and it worked great!(or at least good enough for my purposes).
