MUSIC doesn't have a sound when recording my voice. Help!

MUSIC doesn’t have a sound when recording my voice. I have listed here the things that are happening. Help pls…

When not using Soundcraft mixer, just ordinary headset, the music plays fine while recording. I can also record my voice along with the music using the headset.
When using Soundcraft mixer, the music is muffled and almost nil while recording but during playback (no recording), the music plays fine. I can also record my voice eventhough I can’t hear the music. When I play back what I’ve recorded, it plays just fine (both music and voice).
Tried another software (not Audacity) and Soundcraft worked just fine. But I love Audacity so I really want to figure out why this is happening.
BTW, the Soundcraft mixer works just fine when I record on my daughter’s desktop where I have been using Audacity for about a year with no problem.
I just bought this Acer laptop last Oct.2021, 16gb RAM, now with Windows 11 (but it was also the problem even when I had Windows 10), AMD Ryzen 5 with Radeon Graphics, 2.1GHz. I really want to be able to use this laptop for recording in Audacity because I can’t always borrow my daughter’s desktop.

I presume that you mean music tracks in Audacity are muffled when recording something else?

Your device settings look OK, but I see that the Soundcraft is Notepad-8FX has a lot of options for configuring USB.

The first thing that I would check is the settings (recording and playback) in the Windows Sound control panel (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/windows_accessing_the_windows_sound_controls.html). In particular, ensure that all “Enhancements” are turned off.

Beyond that, I’d be working through the Soundcraft mixer manual (in particular Chapter 7).

Thanks Steve! I have checked my sound settings and “disable all enhancements” are checked on both playback and recording… I’m checking the Soundcraft manual now. I hope I find something or else, this is really gonna be frustrating for me.
