Multitracking

Can I record 8 mics separately with Audacity at the same time using a Scarlet interface?

Thanks.

Audacity 2.4.2 / MacBook Pro / Ventura / M2

I don’t know… If you already have the interface you can try it…

There is a little information here.

On Windows, it seems that most people can’t get it to work. :frowning: And since there is very little discussion about multi-tracking here on the forum I’d say very few people are doing it.

There is no trouble mixing multi-track and it’s pretty common for people to record multiple tracks separately with Audacity and then mix. But it doesn’t have a master mix-level control, or meters for each track, and it’s missing some other features that are standard on a full DAW.

Yeah, I’m going to give it a shot and see what happens. I’ll post my outcome.

If it’s a no-go, it’s on to Logic Pro.

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip Bill. :+1:

Would love to have an Audacity version where you can separate mics into 8 etc., as it seems many others would too. Until then, it’s Logic Pro for me. Very clear and intuitive.
