I am trying to make some multi-track recordings for Brass Quartet. After I record the first track I want to play that back into headphones (so it is NOT being picked up on mic) and play the second part. The problem is that when I do that, the second track has not only the recording I am making but it INCLUDES the first recording. If I try to record it without that first recording I have to turn off overdub, which also mutes the first recording so I can’t play along to it. I don’t remember having this problem before and it is driving me nuts. How can I make a multi-track recording where the tracks remain separate yet I can still hear them in headphones while I am recordings parts 2, 3, and 4?
What sort of microphone are you using and how is it connected to your computer?
