Mono recording ....

Hi,

I’m in the process of archiving some 78rpm records and have brought a couple into Audacity 2.1.1 OK. These are mono discs so only used a single lead into the PC & consequently only only have one channel to edit.

Any ideas as to how I can make this double mono - even if it’s only when I eventually create a playable CD as I want it to come out of both channels at that point.

To create a dual mono track , duplicate the track, [Press “Ctrl”+“D”], then make the two seperate identical tracks into a pair via “Make Stereo Track” …

[ once you have made a dual-mono version, it will sound identical to the single mono track, but you then have the option to make it faux-stereo ]
