mono recording will only record from left channel ?

Hi,

Is this how it’s supposed to work?

I have a tascam us-144 audio interface. It has two inputs, mic in Left and guitar in Right

I can record a mono vocal track via my mic fine.

But how to record mono guitar track ?

The guitar has to be plugged into the tascam Right input (as it’s the high impedance guitar input).

But audacity mono recording only seems to get left channel. How to tell audacity to record mono from
right channel ?

Audacity isn’t yet able to treat the “Right” channel of a stereo interface as mono.

So record in stereo then use the Audio Track Dropdown Menu to Split Stereo to Mono, then use the [X] button top left of the upper track to close it.
