I am looking for guidance. I’m using Audacity 3.0.0 to record tap dancing on a blondewood board in my home. I would like to make the tapping sound like it was done on a harder surface, like concrete or even a hard tile. Any suggestions on how to approach this?
I have a musician colleague that tap dances. He bought a large stone floor tile for about $5 which gives a really good tap and scrape. I doubt that it is possible to get such an authentic sound by processing a “taps on board” recording.
A plugin like couture can attenuate or sustain the decay of each tap.
Applying an Impulse Response of stone slab being tapped may be a solution.
