I am using 2.1.0 on Windows 7. I record a 3 hour stream from radio station. I see that Audacity is recording. I check periodically for an hour and all is well. After recording is finished I find that now only the last hour and fifteen minutes are recorded. Happens about 2 out of 3 times. I think the problem is with
Audacity. Any ieas?
The current Audacity version is 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.
The problem is either that you are out of disk space (look at the Status Bar at the bottom of Audacity for how long you can record for) or you have a cleanup or security application that thinks your recordings are not important and deletes the older parts for you.
You can solve the cleanup problem by saving a project before you record (File > Save Project…) or better, use 2.1.2 which does not let you use a temporary directory which is subject to cleanup.
