Missing key stroke shortcut

I am requesting the key stroke binding “Ctrl+I” be reinstated to the Edit>Clip Boundaries>Split tool like it was in version 2.2.2. The latest version has lost this particular key binding and I found myself growing ever frustrated by no longer having this seemingly insignificant shortcut.

Two bits of good news for you:

  1. By popular demand, “Ctrl+i” shall return as a standard (default) shortcut in Audacity 2.3.2.

  2. That shortcut is already available in Audacity 2.3.1, but it’s in the “Full set” of shortcuts rather than the default “Standard set”.
To enable the full set, open Preference and go down to the Keyboard preferences. At the bottom of those settings, click the “Defaults” button and select “Full”.
(It is also possible to set “Ctrl+i” as a custom preset with the standard set, if you prefer to do that).
