Missing Audio Block Files ANGST!!

I have recieved the following data warning and data log and want to find and restore the files myself. I have restored the files from the recycle bin but am still getting the message. Please help. I’m still using Windows XP

project check of “worldwide 13.07.06a_data” folder detected 9348 missing audio data files (.au) blockfile(s) probably due to a bug, system crash or accidential deletion. There is no way for Audacity to recovr these files automatically.
If you choose the first or second option below you can try to find and restore the missing files to their previous location.
Note that for the second option, the wave form may not show silence.
please select an action.
Close the project immediately with no further changes
Treat the missing audio as silence (this session only)
Replace missing audio as silence (permanant immediately)

Is this a raw capture, or is this after you did production and editing on the show? How long is the show? You said you recovered files from the bin, did you try to delete parts of the show and the machine crashed? Describe exactly the conditions the last time you saw the show whole and the events leading up to the discovery of the damage.

“I was editing my 12-hour long surveillance event…”

The errors point to serious software packages that went missing – not just data. Did you have a computer event and have to reinstall Audacity? Koz

Please post more of the log that shows the name and location of the block files Audacity is looking for.

Try searching your computer for some of the files listed there. You may then find all of the AU files that way. Hopefully you will find the “e00” folder that contains the “d” folders in which the AU files live. If so, that e00 folder must go in the top of the _data folder for the project you are trying to open.
