Hello! I’m using Audacity 2.2.2 on Windows 10. I can import a MIDI file and play it back, but I’d like to know if I can change the synthesizer voice used to play back MIDI. The default seems to be a simple piano. I have BASSMIDI installed and would like to use that but I’m not sure Audacity can talk to BASSMIDI.
Audacity can’t change the MIDI voices, but you can select any available MIDI device to play through. Some MIDI devices (particularly synths and samplers) allow you to change the sounds.
