Mic check...when I am using a mixer and console

Hello, my name is RISH and I just started to use Audacity and was quite excited when I heard about it. I have even using GarageBand and Cubase for years, but, I wanted something more simplified and direct. QUESTION ONE: I noticed in the YouTube video I watched that it said that your mic should be identified if it is plugged into your computer…BUT, my mic is a studio recording mic and is NOT plugged into my computer [as I am using three computers] but, rather, it is plugged into a EURORACK MSB1002 MIXER. And, so, my mic doesn’t show up on the Audacity microphone choices…and, thus, it appears that although I can hear my mic through my headphones, it does not register on the Audacity mainboard. So, HELP…will you please either direct me to WHERE I can find how to work with Audacity when I’m using a mixer? And, QUESTION TWO: I am a NARRATOR, so, when I have read, for example, a story…I then need to cut it up into individual page soundtracks…so, please, again, can you direct me where to go to find those answers…or, perhaps, explain them to me?

Thank you so much,

RISH

it does not register on the Audacity mainboard.

Select the USB device as your Recording Device.

…I then need to cut it up into individual page soundtracks

You can select/highlight the part you want, then File → Export → Export Selected Audio. Or you can use labels to export multiple files at once.
