Menus Stacked in the Middle of the Screen

I’ve been trying to load Audacity 2.3.2. I have 2.1.0 on a Mac with 10.13.5. It was working.

When I loaded 2.3.2 Audacity started to open and then stopped at a point where all the menubar is stacked up in the center of the screen. I tried to go back to 2.1.0 and the same thing happens. I have done a cold reboot. That doesn’t help. I tried several other versions of Audacity with the same result.

I tried the same process on another Mac running Mojave and had the same results.

I have a screen grab of the overlapping pieces of the menus. I don’t see any option for attaching it. The image on the screen overlaps any other image until I forced Audacity to quit.

I ran Malwarebytes and it was clean. Any suggestions as to what to do next.

Both machines are Mac Minis. Late 2014 versions. What else do you need to know?

Unfortunately this is a glitch that a few users have reported when upgrading from old versions of Audacity.
Fortunately the fix is very easy:

“View menu > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars”
