Marge Background Clips

This may sound a little backwards. I’ll try to explain so it makes some sense.

I’m doing a video. The background track is the audio of an engine running. The video is 10 minutes long. The engine track is only 3 minutes long. So I need to enlarge it (or repeat it). I’ve tried joining them. The problem is that there is enough variation in the sound of the engine that there is a noticeable change in the sound going from the end of the first clip to the beginning of the repeat.

Is there a way to merge those clips in a way that the break is neutralized, or at least less noticeable? Or maybe I’m looking at the question the wrong way and there’s an answer I haven’t thought of. Like making the clip sound unform.

You can blend the sounds with crossfades

Since you’ll need at least 3 crossfades you might want to vary the length of the crossfades so it’s not so obviously repeated.

Or maybe you can fine an engine sound effect on the Internet…

The problem is that the engine sound effects I find suffer from the same issue. I tried a crossfade. I think that may do the job. There’s a slight change but it is almost unnoticeable. I think it will work well enough.

Thank you.
