Manjaro - Constant crashes

¡Hi!

Looking into systemctl log, it seems that the following messages are always involved with the crash:

The crash is completely random. Sometimes it crashes just after the main window loads, other times when a menu option is clicked, others when applying an effect, when importing files, with empty projects… it seems that there is not any particular trigger.

I have already removed the configuration files at least a couple of times, and I can not remember how many times I reinstalled Audacity. I switched the projects directory from the root directory to the home partition for ensuring that it has enough space. Any sugestion will be welcomed.

¡Thanks for your time!

I forgot to say it. Launching from command line does not give any positive or negative message, it stays completely “silent”.

I’m still using Audacity 2.4.2 until there’s an Audacity 3.x version that is sufficiently stable for production use.

Hi!

I did not thought about a downgrade. Thanks for the suggestion. I will see if I can find an outdated package somewhere and if I can do something with the dependencies. Otherwise I will see if I can work with the filters that ffmpeg provides. I use it almost every day, so learning how to use a couple more filters should not be too hard…

One more time, thank you!

I have seen that it can be compiled from source code but I’m too lazy for doing that (I have seen that the steps are described in a file among the source files).

I finally decided to give a try to Ardour and I will also learn to use some of the audio tools that are delivered within ffmpeg. Knowing to use more tools will make it easier to adapt the next time that a program breaks.

I have not followed your suggestion, but thanks for proposing alternatives.

Bye!

Have you tried any of the AppImage versions of Audacity?
