Hi I have managed to record an LP, but I cannot understand instructions on how to split the LP into individual tracks so I can make my own compilations. I have tried everything It is is driving me insane.

Oldie but not yet senile. 
First you need to add âpoint labelsâ between the âsongsâ. If there are sufficiently quiet gaps between songs, this can be done with the âSilence Finderâ effect: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/silence_finder.html
If you canât get Silence finder to label the songs accurately enough, you will need to add the labels manually one at a time. While playback is stopped, you can add a label at the cursor position using âCtrl + Bâ. More info about labels here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_tracks.html
When youâve done that, you can use âExport Multipleâ. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/export_multiple.html
