I’m running Audacity 2.0.3 on Windows 7. I wanted to export an unfinished project so made a copy of it in my music file which loaded normally. After doing some minor editing I exported as a WAV file. I didn’t get the usual box with file options but manged to find the WAV file after a bit of searching, but when I reopened the project most of the files were missing. I then tried opening the original copy but to no avail. Help please! Bobington
Make sure that you are not getting confused between “Saving projects” and “Exporting audio files”.
You will find important information about how to safely handle “projects” here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html
Thanks Steve, I think I can see where I went. I didn’t use the ‘Save As’ comand but copied the projects in my music file using the ‘Windows’ copy and paste function.
Hi Bob
As I said on feedback@, Windows copy and paste is OK if you do the paste into a different folder than the one the original AUP and _data folder are in (because then Windows does not rename the AUP and _data folder).
But it’s still safer do to Save Project As.
