I have used Audacity for years. I was running the program using Audacity 3.6 on my Mac and suddenly I lost playback sound. When I add an mp3 or record with my mic, it records fine, it registers on the meters, however when I playback, the sound is lost. When I hit play button curser moves but what I recorded does not register on meters, and no sound. I reinstalled it, reinstalled an older version, shut my computer off, noth. The only thing I notice on playback now is the window to the left turns light blue (as if graying out but blue) and this has something to do with me losing sound. Help!
I’m a Windows guy, but if you have something in addition to your built-in soundcard (like a USB mic, etc.) check your Playback Device.
P.S.
And if you don’t this - The recording & playback volume sliders are now “hidden” under the recording & playback meters so make sure it’s turned-up.
Thank you, DVDdoug! It was a matter of moving the “hidden” slider and turning it up! Now I’m back in business!
