Logitech USB headset not working with Audacity

Hello. I’d like to use Audacity to help record some singing, but I have some technical problems making it work with my Logitech USB headset.

When I try to either listen or record with the headset, I get an error message that says: “Error while opening sound device. Please check the output device settings and the project sample rate.”

The headset doesn’t have any “device settings” per se, as it didn’t come with a CD. It works on iTunes and when I’m streaming, but not here. I’m not tech savvy so I really don’t know what to do. Can anyone help me on this?

Unfortunately you don’t give your version of Audacity or Mac OS X or the exact Logitech model number, but Logitech USB mics sometimes need to be selected and their sample rate specified in /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup. Then choose the same project rate bottom left of Audacity as the sample rate chosen in Audio MIDI Setup. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/User:BillWharrie/OSX_and_USB_input_devices#setup.

The current Audacity version is 2.0.6 (http://audacityteam.org/download/mac).
