Just rebuilt and XP box - just a new HD. Added 2.0.3.
Open 16 bit file - Select some audio - Effects>Amplify
The process indicator bar gets to the end - but never finishes. The dialog/process box just hangs. And then you get the white bar - “Not responding.”
Had 1.3 working fine previously.
Does it work if you generate a tone (Generate menu) and then amplify that?
Does it work with other audio files?
How big is the file that you are having the problem with?
Have you changed any of the default Audacity settings?
When you say that you rebuilt the computer - is this a fresh install of XP?
