High, I am new to this forum and am need of some help
My set up
2 technics 1200’s, 2 pioneer cdj’s going in to mixer. All levels going in to mixer are normal, however, when i record from my equipement in to my pc
there is definate sound loss to the left channel. I know it is not the leads, as i have swapped the leads from the mixer to the pc with new ones.
I went into a maplins today, and spoke to a guy and he said that there is a master balance function??? but cant find it, is there a way of doing this?
I dont think I have a faulty sound card, as this is relatively new.
can someone please help
Please tell us your version of Audacity and Windows (see the pink panel at the top of the page). Also give us the make and model number of the mixer and tell us how it connects to the computer.
You can probably answer this yourself by looking at the manual for your mixer. The Windows control panel for sound (recording section) might possibly have a balance control or left/right input volume controls.

Knowing the mixer is going to be a big deal. Some mixers have a channel balance controls, but we wouldn’t know yet.
i have swapped the leads from the mixer to the pc with new ones.
That is much more likely to be a problem. Does your laptop have connections that look like this?

This laptop (mine) has no stereo audio recording connections.
