Hi, I’m new to audacity, and I have latency issues on my recordings. I can’t seem to find latency correction even under recording preferences. I don’t know if it’s because I have a newer version and it got updated, but I can’t seem to find anything about it online. Any help is appreciated!
There’s two latencys. Overdubbing latency is where your new performance doesn’t line up with the backing track. That’s the one you can help with the latency adjustment.
If you have your headphones plugged into the computer and don’t like the echo you get, that’s machine latency and you’re stuck with that. The only way to avoid that is listen to an external device that supplies a headphone connection.
You can set up Audacity with ASIO services, but that requires you to know computer program management.
