Hello - I’ve been recording short podcasts (20-30 min.) on a blue snowball mic and editing in audacity. I’m just seeing that when I export as a .wav the files are quite large (212 MB to 348 MB). There is very short intro music but that file is only 2.2 MB. Any thoughts on why these files might be so large? Am I exporting incorrectly from audacity? Many thanks in advance for any thoughts!
CD quality stereo WAV files are about 10 MB per minute, so a 30 minute stereo WAV file in CD quality will be about 300 MB.
Before uploading a podcast to the Internet you would normally make a copy as “128 kbps mono CBR MP3”, which will be about 1 MB per minute.
