I installed Audacity v. 2.0.5 and selected “english” … but the laptop default is Portuguese
and has overridden my selection… 
Is there a way to reset my language choice?
i didn´t see an option in preferences + no mention in the Forum.

The language selection in the installer sets the language for the installer.
Audacity, when installed, defaults to the system language. You can change the language in Preferences. See here in the FAQ for details: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_about_audacity.html#language
