Language Problem

Hi Audacity!

I wanna install English Audacity on my Windows 7 (traditional Chinese version, 64 bit) but the installer ALWAYS installs the Simplified Chinese Audacity AUTOMATICALLY. Inside the program, I cannot choose to change the language setting.

My PC details are as follows:

  1. i7 3.3GHz
  2. 8GB Ram
  3. Windows 7 (64 bit) (Traditional Chinese)
  4. Audacity v.2.0.5

Traditional Chinese is very different from Simplified Chinese. TC is used in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and many more Chinese communities in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Users of TC mostly cannot read SC and vice versa.

Even if Audacity decides not to support TC, please let me install pure English version. Thank you very much. Now, how can I change my Audacity to English? How can I make sure an English version will be installed if I choose to reinstall it?

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Ben

Please see here in the FAQ: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_about_audacity.html#language

That is a bug, in so far as Audacity should run in Traditional Chinese if Windows Region and Language format is set to Traditional Chinese.

It is caused by how we name the language translation files.
