LAME won't complete

New to Mac. Now have MacBook Air (early 2015) with Mojave 10.14.3. Audacity works great. Even got SoundFlower to work. Now no joy with LAME. I followed your tutorial about installing it. To get to meat of story, here is what I found in Library file.

That’s it. Where is the binary file to execute! I did process automatic and manual.
I suppose Mojave 10.14.3 doesn’t like LAME

You don’t execute LAME. Audacity uses LAME to create MP3 files.

Bill, I was referring to the results by clicking on the lib file I showed. I just want to know why it can’t execute and stops.
It seems no one has been able to solve this issue using LAME. Is this true?

I have both the 32-bit and 64-bit LAME libraries installed on my MacBook Pro with Mojave 10.14.3. I can happily switch between 2.3.1 64-bit Audacity and 32-bit 2.3.0 Audacity and LAME works fine on those to produce MP3 exports - so yes it does work.

In order to test the instructions in the Manual(s) I go my wife (who is solely a PC user) to run through the instructions to install on my MacBook - and she managed - so I think the installation instructions are sound too.

There is one minor glitch in that the local Manual that you get with the local Manual you get with the installation for 2.3.1 talk about a DMG file - at the last minute we replaced that with a PKG package file approach - the online 2.3.1 manual has better instructions- see:

Again, you do not execute LAME, which seems to be what you were trying to do from the terminal.

You point Audacity to the LAME library (through Audacity’s Libraries Preferences), then you can use Audacity to export to MP3 files.

I was just trying to show the contents of the libs folder. Not to execute Lame to encode to MP3.

Have you gone through the steps to ensure that Audacity sees the LAME file in Libraries Preferences?

Have you tried to export an MP3 file from Audacity?

Most recently you said:

I was just trying to show the contents of the libs folder. Not to execute Lame to encode to MP3.

But earlier you said:

Where is the binary file to execute!

and

I just want to know why it can’t execute and stops

So I don’t understand your problem.
