Lame Export Library??

MacBook Air
OS-X 10.11.5 Native. Not an upgrade. Never been any other OS.

Audacity from
http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/
audacity-macosx-ub-2.1.2.dmg

Audacity seems to run OK.

Lame_Library_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX.dmg
Downloaded and exploded OK into the install location.
/usr/local/lib/audacity/libmp3lame.dylib

Restarted twice. Audacity > Preferences > Libraries refuses to “find” the dynamic library.

What’s supposed to happen?

I’m modeling “clueless user” on a fresh, clean, design-center machine. If this doesn’t work, what condition is the ideal or goal?

As you’ll know, Mac can lock out /usr/local/lib when certain moonphases occur. In that case you want to use the ZIP not the DMG, so you can control where the library goes.
