Just Stops Recording

Audacity 3.1.3 Windows 11 64-Bit

I was recording just fine a couple of days ago, but today it just stops recording (freezes) during the middle of recording. The Audacity log is showing the following information. I have shut down Audacity, rebooted the computer, uninstalled Audacity, rebooted the computer and reinstalled Audacity. It still keeps stopping (freezing) in the middle of recording. Recordings are not long. Usually only 30 seconds to 1 minute at the most.

06:39:42: Audacity 3.1.3
06:39:42: sqlite3 message: (1) no such table: project in “SELECT 1 FROM project LIMIT 1;”

06:39:42: Error: Failed to load avformat-55.dll (error 126: The specified module could not be found.)

Any help would be appreciated. I need to get these recordings done.

What are you recording?

Does it still freeze when if you turn off Transport > Transport Options > Software Playthrough?

What are the contents of your Device Toolbar

What are you recording?

What he said.

You can get Audacity recording halts if the bitstream of the show stops. If you’re recording an on-line performance and the internet connection gets ratty, Audacity will stop dead at the first break. Also, If you’re recording your USB microphone and you like to connect and disconnect it constantly, that may be the end of the tiny gold contacts in the USB plug. Many possibilities.

Are you doing production with an external, network, or cloud drive? Stop doing that. Audacity doesn’t like that very much. Do production on the computer internal drive only. You can shuffle, copy, and up/download sound files all you want, but do it with Audacity off.

Are you running out of room on your drive? “It’s been working forever and now suddenly it stopped.” Because you ran out of room???
