Joining au files Audacity 2.1.0 after timed recording

I set the timer to record a radio stream for 30 mins and then to automatically save it
Everything was fine but the recording was about 30 au files. Normally I would export the recording but how do I join the au files and then export.
I looked through the forum but it seems I need a aup file but no aup file was generated
Any help would be much appreciated

There is no need to save a project unless you want to. After Timer Record completes, just cancel the warning about save project or cancel the dialogue to choose the name of the AUP file. Then you can export.
