I've Been Around The Block A Few Times

Back in the XP DAYS I WAS ONLY ABLE TO RECORD AT 16 BIT WITH aUDACITY.
With Windows 7 I can now achieve 24 bit.But after reading the Audacity manual, I found
some discouraging information regarding sample rates. It states: "The only WASAPI input
available so far is for loopback recording of computer playback.Although 24 bit loopback
recording is possible, the sample rate of the input is fixed at 44100Hz.Which is totally unsurprising to me seeing how i set everything at 96000Hz and the message says “actual rate 96000”
So I’ll reiterate. XP I find out I’m only getting 16 bit.Windows 7 I now find out Im

getting 44100Hz not the 96000.THAT’S 10 YEARS OF BASIC RECORDING! And this stuff has
been available since,I don’t know, A long time.
So, yes, I’m frustrated with the restrictions that Audacity has hidden in it’s program. I started using Audacity in 2014.Found out about the 16 bit thing and you
guys said to go to Windows 7. Well I did, but that only solved half the problem.

I think that’s out of date. Where in the Audacity manual does it say that?

I’m pretty sure that was updated (removed) in the alpha Manual for the upcoming 3.2.0 release (or even for an earlier release) a while back.

It certainly no longer says that in the alpha 3.2.0 Manual:
