I’m having issues with Audacity dropping sounds when recording after I ran the software update. Previously, I used mostly generic, default settings to record my podcasts, so nothing changed except the software version. Now, however, it will record conversational tones and some louder noises, but completely drops laughter and certain sounds. The sounds aren’t particularly loud, so it’s not like it’s exceeding a noise threshold (that I can see).
I’ve tried different recording devices (headphone/mic, standalone Samson mic, computer mic), running firmware updates on the microphone, defragging the computer, restarting software and computer, etc.
I’ve also tried switching from mono to stereo and back again. Since I never changed anything before, I’m hesitant to start mucking around with settings now. I’ve only checked the Noise Gate based on a different forum suggestion, but that only seems relevant to bits that have already been recorded. Anyone have any ideas?
