Issue with recording using system build-in mic

Hello Everybody,

I’ve some strange issue since a few days using Audacity. I make recordings just for my own use of sets behind the turntables. This recordings are just for myself so I can learn from it. because of this I don’t connect my set to my computer. Normally this works perfect, but since a few days a have this strange issue. I record for about a hour but the result is 16 minutes audio. It looks like parts disappear. I would describe it as jumpy audio, it jumps in the time (i hope you guys understand what i mean). I didn’t change anything in my settings so far I know and it worked fine all the time. I reinstall the application a few times but this did not the trick. You guys have any suggestions?

cheers,
Lars

What version of Audacity? See the pink panel at the top of the page.

Do you mean that you’re connecting to the stereo line input of the Mac? You should not be recording music from the built-in microphone on a Mac laptop.

Try reducing “Audio to buffer” in Audacity’s Recording Preferences.

Try turning off App Nap for Audacity (right-click or CTRL-click over Audacity.app, choose “Get Info” then enable the “Prevent App Nap” box).
