I am a novice but trying to learn audacity. I have searched the forum and have not found an answer to this question.
I download first responder audio communications for later posting to a facebook group site. I want to isolate one particular voice/person out of many voices and delete all other voices. Is that possible?
Longer answer: Some software is able to perform sound separation based on localization of the source (“SSL”). Software to do this is fairly experimental and/or expensive commercial software. This type of software usually requires multi-channel audio recorded from a microphone array, in which each microphone pickup is a separate audio channel (so not with a normal, mixed down recording). There’s an open source example here: GitHub - introlab/manyears: ManyEars Sound Source Localization, Tracking and Separation
