Is this copy paste scenario possible in Audacity?

Hi All,

I’m trying to rap up my first recording and have an Audacity question as a new user. Is it possible to simply copy a large amount of background noise (say, 10 seconds worth), then, selecting somewhere else within your track (say 3 seconds worth) to hit paste, and have only the selected region affected. That is, have only the first three seconds of your ten second copy pasted into the selected three second region.

That was a mouth full, I hope it was clear enough :slight_smile: Any suggestions on this?
