Is the shaded-out area in your project to be saved or delete

I’m trying to delete something and it looks like the area I shaded out should be the area to delete. But there’s some doubt there, too. Can you please tell me, which is the area of the track the one that I want to keep? Grayed or not Grayed? Thanks.

In general, the gray area is “highlighted” or selected and that’s the area to go. Koz
