Is my Audacity File Lost

Hello everyone,

I have Audacity v 2.4.2 for Windows 10 and finished recording about 1 hour ago. Before saving my recording as a project for the first time I selected all of my recording (CTRL+A) and deleted it by accident(CTRL+Z did not bring it back). I was looking different methods like recovering the recording in the SessionData but the folder itself was empty. I had found .tmp files that have the same timestamp as my recording but, I do not have the faintest idea if its possible to turn that into an audacity file. Is my file gone forever? Any help would be much appreciated.

How? Both pressing the DEL key and the track respond to Edit > UNDO. If you closed Audacity before you saved anything, then yes, the show is history. That deletes the caches and work files. There is no UNDO for that.
