ionaudio Tape2PC not working anymore with Audacity

Hi there.
I got Audacity 3.0.2 running on my Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) (Version 21H1) and when I select the USB input from my ionaudio Tape2PC and click on record, I get the following error message:

Error opening recording device.
Error code: -9999 Unanticipated host error.

Can anybody help in troubleshooting this and eventually solve it?

OK, this could be a number of things.

  1. Do you have Windows permission to use your microphone? Turn on app permissions for your microphone in Windows 10

  2. Try Transport > Rescan audio devices

  3. Try switching between MME and WASAPI.

  4. Try rebooting

  5. For other suggestions, type “9999” into the search bar in the upper right-hand corner of this page.

The above was it! For some reason, Windows was permitted using the mic, but the desktop apps weren’t anymore :frowning:
