I am recording internal sounds from my Kontakt midi driver into Audacity ok. I am also using overdub which means the recording track is also recording the tracks I previously recorded. In other words, the recording track is recording both the internal digital instrument from Kontakt, mixed with the sound from my prerecorded tracks. Is there a way to monitor the tracks I already recorded without them mixing onto the new track that is coming internally from my Kontakt player?
Not without additional software. Windows does not provide a way to record some sounds that are playing and not others - it’s an all or nothing deal.
It ‘may’ be possible (I don’t use Windows so I’ve not tried) to do what you want with the aid of “Voicemeeter” or similar software (http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/)
I will try it Thanks.
