Internal error at D:\a\audacity\audacity\libraries\lib-xml\XMLWriter.cpp line 547.

Hello good people! I am using Windows 10 and have Audacity 3.1.2 that just installed today. I had worked for almost 8 hours on a project and when I closed and reopened it, it shows me this error message:

Internal error at D:\a\audacity\audacity\libraries\lib-xml\XMLWriter.cpp line 547.

Very much appreciated if anyone knows how to solve this problem, thank you.
Previously before close I tried to export the file to mp3 but I canceled it.

Others have reported this same internal error. See: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/help-internal-error-at-d-a-audacity/63456/1 and https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/saved-file-wont-open/63405/1

Apparently, there is a bug in 3.1.2 that is causing this error. There is one report stating that reverting to 3.1.1 will correct the issue. To download, see here: https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity-old.html

Other reports show that upgrading to 3.1.3-Beta will correct the issue. See this post for 3.1.3 info: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/help-internal-error-at-d-a-audacity/63456/1

What kind of editing and what’s the show? Could you put the show back together again if the edit doesn’t come back?

Any live interviews with famous people? One-time captures of events?

Koz

So I’m not the only one who got this lovely surprise error message today…
happy to report that the 3.1.3 beta saved the project for me as well.
