I’ve been digitalising my LPs via a direct lead from my amp to my computer. Unfortunately my record deck recently died so I purchased a USB turntable to complete the recording of my LPs. However I experience interference, which sometimes appears to be random and sometimes seems to occur at the same point of a track. I can sometimes record a whole side of an LP without interference or it may occur several times in a single track. The interference also sometimes stops as soon as I lift the tone arm off the LP but also sometimes continues until I switch off the recording. I am using the latest version of audacity and Windows 8. A short clip of typical interference is attached. Any suggestions?
You attachment didn’t make it through. Can you try again?

Did you go through a USB hub? Audio hates that.
