I’m trying to install Audacity 2.3.0 on Windows 7. It installs in the default folder but will not run.
It reports “Entry point not found” “The procedure entry point ucrtbase.abort could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.” I found a copy of "api-ms… in c:\programfiles(x86)\dropbox\client (exact same filename) and copied it to my Audacity directory but to no avail, still would not start…
Any advice would be appreciated.
I’m guessing that your computer is very old. Does it support SSE2?
Thanks Steve,
No idea! How do I test for support of SSE2
No VERY old maybe 5-6 years.
I’m getting déjà-vu …
You may need to install some (free) software from Microsoft, see … https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/audacity-2-3-0-will-not-launch-in-windows-vista-solved/50417/1
If it’s only 5 - 6 years old, then it will have SSE2. I was just asking because you are using such an old operating system.
Check out the link that Trebor posted: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/audacity-2-3-0-will-not-launch-in-windows-vista-solved/50417/1
