Installation, but missing driver

I have installed Audacity on several computers, but when attempting to install on my revamped Window 7 desktop, I encountered an error i have not seen before:
The procedure entry point ucrtbase terminate could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-11.1.0.dll.
So I searched for and found the driver and installed it in the System folder inside the Windows program, and also in the syswow64 folder, and in the Audacity program folder. None of which worked to solve the problem. When I went to Device Manager to update the driver it said current driver already installed. Where is the Dynamic Link Library?

So I got back the posting of 9 others who have had the same problem. What is the solution? Can’t anybody in all of Audacity’s staff figure out how to fix this? Until then, Audacity doesn’t work at all.

A Windows update …

Editing the Windows operating system is like performing brain surgery, there’s no reason to do that, (unless you’re a brain surgeon).
