I finished editing an episode of our podcast and the aud3 project file is over 21GB. This episode was longer than our average (this one being 3hrs:15mins- the average being 90 mins) but this is a crazy large file. Most of my prjects are 3GB on the upper end
I don’t know how to compress it down and to transfer it is taking hours I frankly don’t have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When you edit it saves undo information so there may be several “copies” of the audio.
Ignoring “project overhead” or undo information, it uses 32-bit floating point and there are 8 bits in a byte so one channel at 44.1kHz is 176KB per second (about 10MB per minute). Stereo is twice the size.
