I am using Audacity version 2.4.2 to digitize audio cassettes. My computer system is Windows 10 Pro Ver:1909 run on an HP Pavillion laptop. I have two devices to do the analog-digital conversion:a Parasound Zphono USB preamplifier and a TechnicalPro USB2RCA analog-digital converter. Up until a few days ago, the computer recognized both devices and the recording device in Audacity showed them as "Microphone (2 - USB Audio codec). Now, when I plug either of them in, the Windows sound setting changes to the Microphone 2-USB Audio codec, but Audacity only shows Microsoft Sound Mapper, Stereo Mix (Realtek High Defini) and Microphone (Realtek High Defini) as recording devices. In an attempt to solve the problem, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Audacity. This did not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
