I have Windows 7 and using an Olympus WS-831 voice recorder for a conference. I was told I can import the audio files as mp3 and use audacity to play the file. The volume level of the recorder is much poorer than I expected so can I use audacity to increase the volume of the original recording. Many thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Sure. Open the file so it shows as blue waves on the timeline and Effect > Amplify > OK.
If you then want to save it that way, there may be some other steps, but that will quickly get you out of trouble.
I predict (holding fingers to forehead) your next post is how to boost a weak voice in the face of echoes and noise.
