Hi… I have downloaded and installed Audacity 3.0.2 onto my Windows 10 desktop computer… but I am having difficulty finding out, how, or if it is possible, to record the sound from my Fender Mustang LT25 Amp, which connects to the computer via USB, on one track, and also record vocals, from my Blue Yeti Mic, again via USB, on another track at the same time… I also have ASIO4 drivers installed…

it works fine if I only record one track, and I can change the audio input settings to either mice or my amp, but then it globally changes all the tracks to that same input, rather than have separate inputs for each track…

any help will be much appreciated.

Two problems.

– Did you recompile the Audacity program with ASIO support? That can be done and people do it. That’s the only way you can get Audacity with ASIO support. It’s not just load a driver.

– Audacity only records from one Thing or Device. The only way you can get around that is have a program that makes extra sound pathways and mixes them such as Voicemeeter.

I did it with two different performances into an external sound mixer, and a stereo USB connection.

@kozikowski… thanks for the reply… in answer to your question, yes, I installed the drivers, then Audacity 3.0.2 and it indicated in ‘preferences’ that it recognised ASIO4 as being present… however, it made no difference to the outcome… only one input source, regardless of how many tracks selecgted for recording…

with your second suggestion, it looks, as feared, that Audacity is a ‘single’ input source program and as such, not useful for my needs, which is a shame as its easy to navigate and works well in that ‘single input’ mode… that said, I will look at ‘Voicemeeter’ and see if it either helps or does what I need… thanks gain for the advice…

The official Audacity releases do not work with ASIO (or with ASIO4All). This is due to licensing issues.
