Importing wma files and AVFormat-52.dll not installed

I am a new user on Audacity 2.0.0. My laptop runs Win 7. I am trying to import wma files created using Win 7 Sound Recorder and export them as smaller file sized files so I can attach them to a Powerpoint presentation.
As per the help I installed LAME (For FFMpeg/LAME on Windows: Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe) in C:Program Files (x86)Lame For Audacity. I have closed Audacity and rebooted laptop but FFMpeg file AVFormat-52.dll is not found. In preferences the MP3 Export file was located OK.
I did a search of C drive and found only 2 AV*.dll files which are in Symantec folders (AVManRes.dll, AvPluginImpl.dll).

Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Dave

LAME and ffmpeg are 2 separate things. You will need to install “FFmpeg_v0.6.2_for_Audacity_on_Windows.exe” instead.

LAME library is for exporting to .mp3 format. It doesn’t have anything to do with importing .wma files.

See here for installing FFmpeg: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg
