importing track for editing

When I import a track into Audacity it appears to be compressed to .35seconds. How can I de-compress the file.

I dragged the file from my Itunes and the file type is MPEG4.

I think that’s also Apple AAC format. Standard iTunes.

I think Audacity 1.3.12 can read those.

You can install Audacity 1.2 and 1.3, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.
