This is the best place to get help. There are developers that participate on the forum.
Of course with free open source software there isn’t much (if any) budget for support but you’ll get better support here than you’ll get from most commercial software companies.
That’s a bit of an exaggeration. LWinterberg is employed by muse group and has posted well over 400 times. In fact he even replied to your other post here: Recording over imported track not working - #3 by LWinterberg
Having said that, this forum is essentially a “community forum” that is supported by muse group.
Audacity has never had a “Help Desk.” It’s always been volunteers helping each other. As above, it’s usually worked out pretty well because of volunteer “elves” with tons of experience over multiple time zones.
Yes; you would think for the price (free) you would get better support.
