I have recently installed Audacity 1.3.12 and 1.3.14 fro Windows 7 on an Acer that meets, exceeds the requirements, but I think it is recording, I am just unable to hear anything when I click on stop and then try to play it back…can you please give me some tips to help me determine what I am doing wrong. I am trying to take a cassette and transfer to my computer to enhance and then record to beter format for playing and listening purposes. Please Help…Sincerely DGROGG3314
Please note that Audacity 1.3.x is obsolete and no longer supported.
The current version is 2.0.5 and is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows
How is the cassette player connected to your computer? Is it a USB cassette player?
Yes it is a device that plays cassettes, vinyl, am/fm radio, and has input to run mp3…nice device and was very moderately priced. The device has a USB Cord that connects and runs right into the computer. it was supposed to come with an Audacity cd…but it was missing in the package. …so I was looking online for a down loadable version that matched what was supposed to come with it. I will try the new version you supplied me with… n any other info would still be appreciated. …thanks DGROGG3314
here is a tutorial in the manual about recording from USB devices: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_with_usb_turntables.html
The manual is also included in the recommended version of Audacity (in the Help menu).
thank you very much I will post my results or ask for more help if there are more complications
